Breathtaking Mallorca wedding of Sarah Franssen at Son Marroig in Deià
Some weddings feel like they’re straight out of a fairytale. Sarah and Henri’s celebration on the breathtaking cliffs of Mallorca was just that. Their wedding took place at the beautiful Son Marroig venue, combining elegance, romance and Mediterranean charm. Son Marroig offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, with the iconic marble pavilion overlooking dramatic cliffs and lush greenery. This historic property, once owned by Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria, combines natural beauty with timeless architecture, creating a magical atmosphere as the warm sun bathes the landscape in golden light.
The ceremony took place in the pavilion, high above the shimmering water. With the waves in the distance and a gentle breeze, Sarah and Henri exchanged their vows, their eyes full of love and anticipation – a photographer’s dream come true. I still have fond memories of this beautiful hot summer day in June 2024 with the two of them and their guests.

Ceremonies in small chapels, weddings in idyllic gardens or weddings on impressive cliffs that perfectly set the scene for the sunset are particularly popular. My favourite locations on the island include Son Marroig and Finca Morneta.
The setting for civil weddings on Mallorca
A civil wedding in Mallorca is possible, but is subject to certain conditions. At least one of the partners must be officially registered on the island or have Spanish citizenship. Many couples therefore decide to hold the civil wedding in their home country and celebrate a free or symbolic wedding ceremony on Mallorca. I would be happy to accompany you both at your civil wedding in Germany and at your big wedding on Mallorca.

About ME
I love travelling, discovering the world, new people and cultural traditions and capturing the uniqueness of each place and each couple. The island of Mallorca is very important to me, not only from a photographic point of view, but also from an emotional one. Not only because holidays on the island have accompanied me through many stages of my life from an early age. After the death of my grandfather, I made it my goal to follow in their footsteps in all the places in Europe that my grandparents had travelled to together. One of these places was Mallorca. And as luck would have it, without knowing it beforehand, I checked into the very same hotel where my grandparents had stayed in Peguera years ago for a photographic project in March 2023. Since then, the island has not only brought me wonderful weddings and memories from my youth, but also the love of my grandparents, who will always remain a role model for me.
